About Strongwomen
StrongWomen is a collaboration between Inez Leniere Lopez, a Belgian-born yoga teacher, and Kate Dakers, a Boxercise, boxing fitness trainer and former boxing coach from Zimbabwe.
United by our diverse backgrounds, we share a common vision: to create safe spaces where women can exercise, share their stories, and build confidence and body positivity.
Our goal is to foster meaningful connections and promote better health and well-being for women through the tools and expertise we collectively possess.
Inez proudly presents:
Kate Dakers
It was 2019 when Kate moved to Cómpeta.
She came to my classes, and we connected.
I was – and still am – fascinated by her knowledge, her drive to make positive contributions to our local community, her passion to help people find their strength.
Soon after meeting we started working together.
Kate practised martial arts in 3 styles of Karate for 10 years, worked as a 1:1 Boxing Fitness Trainer, has 20 years experience as a Boxercise/Kickboxercise Instructor and 15 years experience coaching the sport of olympic boxing.
In 2011 she attended the first all-female boxing clinic in New York City. Kate coached the Female Development Team at England Boxing and in 2018 she opened the first women-led boxing club in the UK: “Northern Powerhouse Boxing Academy”, of which she still is actively involved as honorary chair.
Her experience working with marginalised communities, young people and victims of abuse make her one of the most compassionate, kind-hearted and empathetic women I know.
She makes me laugh, she inspires me to be and do better.
She’s my StrongWomen wing woman!

KATE PROUDLY PRESENTS:
Inez
I met Inez at a time of enormous change in my life and from the start, through her Yoga classes, she provided me with an anchor and a place I could go to feel connected.
Over time, we discovered shared values and a desire to do better for women who looked to exercise to improve their physical and mental health. It was a natural progression to start working together and it has flowed ever since.
Inez has been teaching Yoga and Pilates to individuals and groups for over 25 years. She’s the founder and owner of Competa Yoga and a teacher´s teacher, actively helping others on their journey to become Yoga teachers.
She has a background in dance from an early age, before crossing into a career in the fitness industry where she became certified in Personal Training, Les Mills Body Balance, Johnny G and Spinning, finally coming home to Body and Mind.
A well respected, multilingual teacher with a gift for getting the best out of people through a tailored approach to her classes. Her fascination with the individual drives a passion to create safe spaces for anyone to be authentic, to thrive and to shine.
Inez is a grounded, open-hearted individual and a gifted teacher. She loves humour and doesn’t take herself or me too seriously, which is what makes our partnership so enjoyable.
Footnote: Inez teaches Vinyasa Flow Yoga, Yin Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, Pilates, and Meditation. She runs live and online classes at Competa Yoga and co-runs StrongWomen retreats and events.
Our Values
StrongWomen creates classes, workshops, retreats and events that build body positivity and physical and mental resilience in women. As hosts, we invite and celebrate diversity, believing it contributes to deeper understanding between communities. We stand for inclusion and welcome people from all backgrounds, countries, cultures and of all ages.
Approaching physical exercise as an important contributor to mental health and wellbeing rather than a means to achieve a particular external aesthetic.
Our belief is that the language we and others use about our bodies, can determine our thoughts and actions. Particularly as women, we can collectively change that language and the thinking around it for the better.
We aim to be characterised by integrity and passion for helping people to thrive. Working from our own past experience, we believe change comes from within, we just need the courage-building skills, tools and methods to create opportunities to flourish.
Convinced that by building community and connection, people lift each other up and individuals grow and shine.
